No. 02 Browser window frame

# Hang a screenshot in a browser window

A tidy, generic browser around your page: light or dark, with the address and tab title you choose. Made in your browser, never uploaded.

## How to frame a screenshot in a browser window

Capture just the page, without your own browser's toolbars, then drop, paste or choose it above. The window is drawn around the image at full resolution, so nothing in your screenshot is cropped or scaled.

- **Chrome** sets the colour of the window's top bar. Match it to the page: dark chrome around a dark interface looks deliberate rather than patched together.
- **Window buttons** come as coloured dots, quieter grey dots, or minimise, maximise and close on the right. None of them copies a particular browser's design.
- **Address** is plain text, shown the way browsers show it: without `https://` and with a small padlock. Use it to put the real URL in a launch post or a placeholder in a tutorial, or clear it to hide the field.
- **Tab title** adds a single tab above the toolbar. Leave it empty for a simpler window.
- **Screenshot density** keeps the chrome in proportion. Retina and other high-density screens capture twice the pixels, so the bar is drawn twice as tall. Auto guesses from the width: 2000 px or more counts as 2×.

The background, padding and shadow work as they do on the [screenshot beautifier](https://snapcanvas.click/). Choose the transparent chip to keep only the window and its shadow, ready to drop onto a slide.

## Questions

**Does the frame look like Chrome, Safari or Edge?**

No. It is a simple, generic window drawn for this site, so it suits any page and does not borrow a browser maker's look or logo.

**Why does the address bar look tiny on my screenshot?**

Your screenshot probably came from a high-density screen. Set Screenshot density to 2× (or 3×) and the window's text and buttons scale up to match.

**Can I show a full-page screenshot?**

Yes. The window grows to the image's height, so a long scrolling capture becomes a tall window. For social posts, crop it first or use the social media sizes tool.
