# About Snap Canvas

A small gallery of tools for making screenshots presentable.

## What it is

Snap Canvas turns a raw screenshot into something you would happily put on a slide, in a launch post or in documentation. The [screenshot beautifier](https://snapcanvas.click/) adds a background, padding, corners and a shadow; the [browser window frame](https://snapcanvas.click/browser-window-frame/) and [device mockup](https://snapcanvas.click/device-mockup/) put it in context; the [annotator](https://snapcanvas.click/annotate-screenshot/) points things out and hides what should stay private; the [social media sizes tool](https://snapcanvas.click/social-media-image-sizes/) fits it to each platform; and [code to image](https://snapcanvas.click/code-to-image/) does the same for a snippet of code.

## How it works

Every tool runs in your browser. Your image is opened by the browser, drawn onto a canvas on the page and saved straight back to your device, so it never travels to a server. Once a page has loaded, it keeps working without a connection. The fonts, the highlighting library and all the code are served by this site; apart from the page-view count described on the [privacy page](https://snapcanvas.click/privacy/), nothing is fetched from other services.

## What it is not

It is not an image editor or a design suite, and it has no accounts, cloud storage or watermarks. The device frames and browser windows are simple shapes drawn for this site; they are not, and do not imitate, any manufacturer's products or trademarks.

## Who runs it

Snap Canvas is one of a family of small, free, single-purpose tool sites. It is free to use and shows no ads. The footer links to related sister sites and to two services we recommend, CleanTempMail and WebTraceCheck.
